Nestled in a wooded village on the Maine coast,
The Bracy House is a vacation rental and caretakers’ cottage owned by an architect & a felt company founder.

Bring the whole crew.

This four-bedroom, four-bath with two separate units lets everyone have their own space, while still staying connected. The two (yes, two) kitchens include full-size appliances and are fully stocked to tap into your inner chef. And each of the two living rooms includes comfy seating with LED TVs and Apple TVs to stream to your heart's content. Plus, take advantage of the ample outdoor spaces including large front porch, patio with grill, and grassy back yard. The Bracy House lets you connect when you want to but allows some me-time when you need it.

Settle into the Maine woods.

This is a slightly different vacation rental than you’ll find in other parts of coastal Maine. We’re an architect and a felt company founder who love the north Atlantic coast and contemporary Nordic design. Built by Horace H. Bracy in 1890, the house underwent an extensive renovation to accommodate a contemporary aesthetic with a Scandinavian spin. Located on almost two wooded acres near the Atlantic Ocean, this vacation rental has two two-bedroom, two-bath units that are interconnected and designed to be oh-so-easy to settle into.

It’s the little things.

Locally roasted coffee & organic teas, high-definition LED TVs with Apple TVs, bed linens and towels, luxurious shampoo, conditioner & body wash, central air conditioning, Nest thermostats, and 24-hour check in via Nest x Yale smart locks are all included. And we're designophiles, we admit it. While we value The Bracy House’s long history, you’ll find the interiors decidedly contemporary. We have filled the house with furniture, objects, and books from contemporary design studios near and far to make a home that suits the design-minded too.

Need a quick getaway?

The Bracy House is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Boston (1 hr 20 min), New York City (4 hr 50 min), or Montreal (5 hr 30 min). We're nestled in the quiet, wooded village of Cape Neddick but within a short drive (or bike ride) of the restaurants, shops, beaches, and attractions of the southern Maine seacoast.

Maine's southernmost coastal towns—Kittery, the Yorks, Ogunquit, and the Kennebunks—are home to miles of sandy beaches sheltered along the rocky coastline of the North Atlantic dotted with historic villages. Located in the Cape Neddick part of The Yorks (the four villages of York Harbor, York Village, York Beach, and Cape Neddick) on the southern Maine seacoast, our secluded little spot provides a quiet retreat but the hustle and bustle of Ogunquit or York are just minutes away.

Come stay at The Bracy House.

The Bracy House has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, two kitchens, and two living rooms—with two separate units that are connected inside the house—to create a comfortable house for kicking back. It's perfect for two families traveling together or a large group of friends. Two bedrooms are located on each floor with queen size beds and one with an ensuite full bath with shower. The second full bath on each level features a bathtub. The two kitchens include a full-size refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave with basic dinnerware and cookware. And each of the two living rooms includes comfy seating with LED TVs & Apple TVs to stream to your heart's content. Rejoice as one can launder to their heart's content in the laundry room. And the front porch, patio, and backyard are all yours (well, yours and our resident chipmunks).

In the shoulder seasons, we rent just The Downstairs unit for smaller groups or couples.

There’s a caretaker’s cottage too.

The Bracy Cottage lets Adam & Traci's love of all things contemporary run wild. Following the demolition of a dilapidated seasonal cottage, this 800-square-foot caretaker’s cottage built in 2019 was constructed to be their dream home (albeit in a tiny size). Since the cottage is situated next to the guest house, the fenestration was intentionally laid out with clerestory windows facing the house to provide privacy to the guests in the house as well as to the occupants of the cottage. On the other sides, large windows and a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door provides views of the surrounding woods. And in more exciting news, The Bracy Cottage has been featured in Maine magazine and on dwell.com!
